From Being Ashamed to Look At My Bank Account To Laughing While Checking My Bank Balance
A couple of years ago I was broke.
Well worst than broke.
Broke would have been rich for me.
I floated between a negative bank balance and $0 in my account. I used to get excited when I got paid because I could get out of negative dollars and into $0.
It is crazy because banks will charge you -$32.99 for having no money in your bank account.
That is wild because the bank and I both know we have no money, why would you charge me?
I remembered telling my mom “Yes! I have $0 in my bank account, so I can only go up from here!”
Honestly looking back I can say that was the worst time in my life because I could not help anyone.
Fast forward to my life now…
This past weekend I spent about $1000 to have fun for the day. As I look back on this weekend I think about how not to long ago having $1000 to me meant I was super rich!
Now let me be clear by saying that spending this much money is a bad idea and NOT wise at all.
A weekend of spending this much money would have broken me for months.
Now instead of feeling ashamed looking at my bank account the next day, I felt like a silly rabbit and wondered “What is the damage?” (lol)
To get to this place I had to accept that I was broke.
No positive affirmation could help me get to this place of contentment. I had to elevate my income.
I had to get a job that paid me more. I went from $1,500 bi-weekly to making about $6500 bi-weekly after tax. Increasing my income allowed me rapidly pay off debt, greatly increase my savings account, and invest into increasing my skills to make money too.
Today I invested in Justin Goff “How To Write “Justin Style” Emails Program” (Investment: $197) & A Focus Session with Kim Doyal (Literally she is a Hidden Gem in the Online business world) (Investment: $397)
I devour Justin Goff daily emails and I like to learn from people that are doing the thing that they are teaching.
Kim Doyal has become a good friend and mentor too. She is the one that helped me launch my podcast and everything for it. (I am excited to bring that back too)
Okay, that is all for today…
Remember to accept that you are broke and increase your income.
See you tomorrow…
