It is Sunday and it has been a crazy fun week.
As time is winding down on my deployment, I am filled with mixed emotions.
I am sad to leave these amazing beautiful friends and people of Djibouti however I am excited to go home and see my family as well.
I recently got to celebrate my sister joining a sorority over the phone and her walking for graduation. It was painful to watch over the phone and video is not the same as in-person ever! However, when I get home we will celebrate birthdays, graduation, and much more.
Every Sunday I like to share what is going on in my world and it can be about life, business, manhood, and just being a friend. But let’s begin:
Use Google Calendar To Organize Your Day
This morning I opened google calendar and reorganized my life. I am a flexible person but I do love some good structure so I know what I am doing in my life. I made time for my workout and personal morning “me time” before I start working on emails or any jobs.
I believe regardless of being a man, dad, business owner, and even a service provider you MUST selfishly serve yourself so that you can serve others in a GREATER capacity. Too many times I have run to help others so much that I was so drained and when I needed help no one was around so every morning I give to myself.
Let’s move to the next thing.
Become An OVER TIPPER
While writing this I had to stop and go pick up some Kikidrop. Kikidrop is the Djiboutian version of Uber Eats. The guy delivering and I had a conversation about the cost of the food. I only had $10,000 francs with a solid bill. He had 2x $5000 francs.
The food cost $3500 francs.
I didn’t have any change so we both looked at each other. And the store to get change is FAR. Where we were is not located by anything close. I gave $5000 francs and told him to keep the rest as a tip.
He was overjoyed and smiled.
Whenever possible to OVER TIP always do so. Not because of good karma or some positive vibes. It always works out in your favor. Tipping well has given me special access and treatment, but I over-tip just because.
I used to be a server and I can tell you that when I got a BIG tip it would change my day. So whenever I get the chance I like to change people’s days. Okay, that is all for that let us dive into the last topic.
If you can beat boredom in business you will win.
Starting a new project is exciting and fun. But after a while, the fire dies down and you get bored. I used to get energized to start new projects and when the fire and excitement went away I would move to the next new exciting thing. I am doing a new thing where I am sticking to my initial idea no matter what. Right now that is:
Men’s Journal
Cleaning Company
Pressure washing company
Credit repair company
1% Man Newsletter
Saying no to everything else. That allows me to focus on these and overcome boredom. The longer I last the more money I can make easily because everyone least is jumping in and out.
Okay, that is all I have for you today.
What do you have for me?
